The removable, breathable, machine-washable layer is extra thick for maximum breathability and doubles as a mattress protector.   GOTS approved accessories include polyethylene waterproofing made from non-GMO sugarcane, steel coils (innerspring) or polyethylene foam (lightweight) support, steel fasteners, and polypropylene for the interlinings. The breathable cover uses elastane elastic band, a TPU waterproof barrier, and polyester fabric backing and thread for strength and durability.

Airflow under the baby allows heat to dissipate more efficiently, helping regulate temperature for less sweaty backs. How it works

The breathable cover features a soft organic cotton face and a 3-dimensional polyester lattice structure that allows air to flow through the fabric and under the baby for 360° air circulation. Since air is able to pass freely through the cover’s 3D structure, babies can breathe right through it!

Practical Design

The breathable function is encapsulated in a washable cover that completely hugs the mattress. In the event of an accident, remove the soiled cover and wipe the mattress clean. Replace with a spare cover or put the baby back to sleep on the fully functional underlying mattress. The cover can then be machine washed and dried at your convenience.

2-stage

2-stage dual firmness provides a firmer side for infants and a medium-firm side for growing toddlers. As your child develops, switching over is as easy as flipping the mattress.

Firm support

The Organic Breathable Ultra 2-Stage follows CPSC and pediatrician recommendations for firm support and a snug fit so your baby gets the firm, flat surface that’s recommended for safer sleep. It also features strong edges to help prevent limbs from getting caught between the mattress and the crib while providing that extra edge support for toddlers who like to jump! The innerspring version is for those who want the ultimate in support and durability. The innerspring has 242 coils, which is among the highest coil count in the industry. It disperses the weight of the baby over more coils, reducing pressure points. It also has a heavy-duty border rod for extra support around the perimeter. If you plan to use the crib mattress in a toddler bed, where an adult may sit on the edge, the innerspring may be a better choice.
